Default Neil Shore Road

Thinking about a home purchase on Neil Shore Road in Meredith and I am wondering if anyone has some insight regarding the train tracks and how often a train goes thru there in the summer months. Also there are cottage rentals on that road called Clearwater Cottages and I am wondering what the atmosphere is like there during the summer, For example - quiet, rowdy, busy, you would never know people where there, etc.

Thanks for any information that can be provided.

Default Railroad

We live just up the "tracks" from you in Grouse Point. While the train doesn't run through our yard, it runs along our beaches and boat slips. I would say it isn't an annoyance at all. You may get your picture taken many times but mostly it is nice people on the train waving as they go by. I think that we kind of enjoy it actually. It runs a lot more during bike week but it seems that it only goes by more than 5 or 6 times a day in the summer.

Default One more thing

One more thing....If you are not aware....Once the snow is deep enough, the railroad becomes a groomed snowmobile trail in the winter. There will be lots of sleds running up and down all weekend and light traffic during the week. As a sledder, it give me the alternate reason to be at the lake all winter. We didn't know this until after we bought the house but 8 years ago I bought my first sled and I've ridden well over 10,000 mile out of this location. There are some very nice trails in all directions from your location.

I have been renting at Clearwater Cottages since 1999. Not sure how many cottages are available since the same people usually come every year. Depending on the week you go it can get loud at night (talking loud), not rowdy. People usually sit around the fire at night and sometimes people talk loud. Usually not loud enough to wake you up. During the day it is very quiet and driving by you would never know people were there! PM me if you want more info.
