Just a quick note.
I had lunch today at the Green Ginger at exit 20 next to Shaw's in Tilton and it was pretty good for the price. The Green Ginger does not have a buffet, but the lunch menu items are varied. I had the Mongolian Beef entre. This came with a choice of soups, a choice of appetizer and the main course. All was very good as was the service. The total was $13.00 including a drink, tip and tax |

Seems a bit steep for lunch in a Chinese restaurant.

The food is good and the prices seem OK, but I will probably not go again. I have a peanut allergy and was served peanut dishes twice after telling my water of my restrictions. The second time, the waiter still insisted the dish had no peanuts after I started getting ill, then the chef finally confirmed what was rapidly becoming obvious to me. They apologized, but didn't take anything off the bill for the meal I eventually lost.

That could be deadly for someone with serious allergies. I'd hate to see that happen to anyone and would also hate to see this restaurant close down. I have to wonder (and this isn't me being un-PC or whatever) but if there's a communication breakdown/language barrier issue here...

Our Grandson has a severe peanut allergy and every restaurant we've been to, including big chains has handled that situation very well. I'm very surprised they were so callous about something so serious. I guess they're the reason we carry an epi pen.

There are a lot of places that cook in peanut oil and there are a lot of waiters that have no idea what oil is used. Many places will note it on the menu and others that don't. Waiters /waitresses often only look at ingredients and don't think about the oil. We had a death in RI because of that.
I think the safe thing for anyone with an allergy is to ask the waitstaff to ask the cook and maybe hint that will reduce the chance of a lawsuit. Lakegeezer should NOT have been expected to pay the bill for that meal.
