I don't remember anyone saying that it was no big deal and would be gone soon. Like any epidemic, it needs to run its course, similar to the flu.
I am as likely to believe a bunch of godless commies as I would believe our mainstream media. How soon we forget 3 1/2 years of "Russian collusion" let alone the other crises du jour.
