Personally -- for the number of times they go off and considering what they are designed for I think its a FABULOUS Nationwide system. Unfortunately it took the parents of Amber Hagerman years of lobbying to get it instituted.
If you choose to "Opt Out" on your phone, be sure to also suspend notifications from the NOAA Weather also.... as they broadcast the alerts in addition to Severe Weather Alerts. So now you will not know that the tornado or hurricane is coming nor that a young child has been abducted !
