You know this would not be free to the boaters, right? Wolfeboro could easily get 3 to 4 bucks per foot, per weekend night. It would more than pay for itself, but the main goal of this (and the improvements already proposed) would be to increase revenue for the downtown businesses. Imagine all the folks stuck going back to the same marina slip every night that would welcome an alternative. They'd want to make the most of their night away by enjoying a bit of boutique shopping, a nice meal out, a bunch of drinks, and a hearty breakfast the morning after. Each overnight boat has potential to bring hundreds of dollars into the local economy per night.
Dave, tis is right--I'm ROFL. Your plan is for the most expensive town on the lake to offer a weekend overnight on the water for $100? To people who do not live in Wolfeboro? Who would be taking space normally available to locals? At a time of year that all the town is already packed?

And this is before we get to the various noise, alcohol, and other nuisance issues...
