Altering my first night's stay-over to Fredricksburg VA rather than Richmond VA, just after getting around DC. Stopping in Fredricksburg will shorten the ride by an hour, and my wife will appreciate the decision by that time !

That said, from 81S, I was thinking of taking I70/270 East in Hagerstown, down to Rockville Maryland, the the DC Beltway and pickup 95S at that junction.
This will place me just above Fredricksburg

84W through Hartford, Waterbury, Danbury is not fun, always a lot of construction, but that's the norm !
