On the weekend of the Rotary Derby, I was watching the WCYC "Club Cam" live video of Wolfeboro Bay, when I saw a couple of sleds scream through the frame and skim the open water in front of the dock.

Later in the day, just before sunset, I saw group of three sleds pause with their headlights pointing in the direction of the cam, and figured they were checking out the spot for a skim. They took off, out of the frame, and sure enough, a minute later, they flew across the frame one at a time, and did so four or five more times.

Yet another use for Web cams: Watching skimming from your kitchen -- 430 miles away...
