A couple of years ago I saw someone docking in Alton in a 240 Searay with a bow thruster. It took 4 very bad tries and his wife ended up lunging for a dock post to pull the boat in. Who puts a bow thruster in a 240 Searay?

I don't know. Have a friend teach you? Hire a Captain to give you boating lessons? Find a dock in a quiet area to practice your docking skills mid-week?
I have a 310 SLX and I have the axis joystick. It is awesome especially when docking in windy conditions.
