RT 140 connects to RT 106 about five miles from RT3/11. It's about ten miles total from the RT 106 exit on RT 3/11 to exit 20 on RT 93. It's about 8 miles if you go by the mosquito bridge. So my "short cut" isn't really shorter just less traffic.

I don't always bother with the short cut, just when I think Winnisquam/Tilton might be messy. On the way to the lake, I play it by ear. When I get off exit 20 if it looks bad, I go straight across passed McDonalds and down RT 140.

I've been commuting from Nashua to Mass for 25 years, it seems like I've been stuck in traffic all my life. So when things stop I automatically look for backroads and alternate routes.
