It is interesting that Gilford does not allow for a bunkhouse, as Alton does per code. They have several requirements, but nothing outrageous.

With that said, I'd build it in sections on the mainland, similar to how Reed's Ferry builds theirs, and then bring it over modular. I'm sure you've explored this, but if Reed's will deliver unassembled to the mainland, then just do that and assemble yourself on the island.

We own a "bunkhouse" in Alton on an island, that is our main camp as of right now, at a whopping 252 sq. ft., not bad for just two of us.
