It's a mystery to us how the canoe made it out of the very sheltered cove that is its home. It was not well-secured on the beach, but it would have taken a very unusual series of wind shifts to get it out of its little cove; then to head in the opposite direction to Timber. It wasn't even windy on Sunday night! We don't think anybody took to it, as the paddles, cushions and life-preservers were just as we left them, and the sides are a bit more banged up than before. The moral of the story is to always secure boats well; it's amazing how far they can go on their own.
