FYI, from what I've seen, almost none of these use clip in batteries, so they don't have a socket to accept the battery.

If you're not comfortable soldering delicate electronic items, I suggest you try to find someone to help you that does have this experience. You don't want to make it worse by damaging your GPS during the battery installation. Remember that you'll be installing a live battery during the soldering operation.
