When I recieved my confirmation via the e-mail it had the temp pin on it and I just left it that way. I believe it is an 6 or 8 digit number. It is now logged in a book that I have all password/pin numbers in as I'm a great one for forgetting or mixing them up. Glad to hear that the FAQ's helped out with the trailer info.
