Alaska has a population of about 600k while NH has a poplation of about 1.1 mil. Alaska and NH are the only two states which have BOTH no income tax-no sales tax. However Alaska gets a lot of revenue from oil companies like Exxon, BP & Chevron. Enough so every adult Alaskan gets an annual Alaskan oil dividend of about $5000. Every time anyone buys a gal of gasoline, a small part of the price goes to every Alaskan resident.

Anyway, Alaskan towns have the option of collecting a local sales tax, and 79 different Alaskan towns charge from 1-7% in sales tax for local town expenses like maybe no-deductible dental insurance for all their town employees ( like Meredith).

NH towns have no problem spending money, and a local sales tax would take some of the burden off their poor, overtaxed property owners, like me.

NH now has close to 1.3 million citizens.....we have been discovered
