If you don’t have a way to get some kind of shim between the sheet metal and the undersurface, drill four holes large enough for washers where your mounting holes would be. Put your washers and nuts on, then seal holes up completely with a quality silicone sealant or seal on a scab piece of aluminum sheeting over the holes and seal up completely….
