How many of you belong to a service club (Lions, Rotary, Shrine, etc.)? Locally, it appears these groups aren't replacing members as rapidly as they used to and have declining membership. Point is, people don't want to help others as much as they used to. NH is run by volunteers--selectmen, school board, legislature, etc. Very difficult these days to recruit for planning board for example, but there are plenty who go online and complain about the people who do serve others. If you haven't served your community, it's not too late. Meals on Wheels needs drivers, just a couple of hours one day a week, Adopt A Road, a couple of hours twice a year, start going to church again, one hour a week...you'll feel better and we'll all get along better.
Today's the day. 22 years ago, we all learned a lot about getting along.
