We have had hot tubs on the island for years and always fill from the lake. We have a whole house sediment and UV filter (water is pumped from the lake), so the water is filtered before it comes out of the hose bib. You can purchase inline filters to put on a garden hose if concerned. Our water has always been clean and clear, with perfect initial readings before treatment.
