For pine sap removal, many years' experience of trying various solvents available on the retail market has taught me that denatured alcohol works better than anything else I've tried. No petroleum-based solvent including paint thinner, bug & tar remover, even gasoline, works nearly as well as denatured alcohol for removing pine sap. Also, denatured alcohol will not harm fiberglass (or a car's paint finish), and it even works well for removing sap from Sunbrella-type boat canvas.
