But I also do not live on the lake, but within walking distance. So I guess it would be a big hassle to get a boat to the lake and expensive to keep somewhere there. I have no idea how it all works. All new to me. LOL!

OK. You're new here. You'll find friends who have boats. Then you'll join the boat club at Akwa Maine, then you'll buy a boat. Some of my boating friends ate french fries on a family boat and now they're addicted. Be careful. Some went to sandbars, and later met a boat salesman introduced by a friend. Be very very careful of boat salesmen. They can commit your entire family to a lifetime of fun, bigger boats and more time on the water. Very dangerous, and all the time, your kids and friends will just think it's a lot of fun.
I've been addicted since my father let me drive around age 6. Now, it's a lifetime curse.
