Speaking of ice, does anyone know if there are still folks who still cut the ice out of the lake in blocks, and store it in an "ice house" for ice or cooling use thru out the spring, summer and fall?
I have an ice house on my property and from the best I can tell it was last used until the late 1940's. Available electricity doomed any further use after that point.
