We're not that far from Chases Island, but had moderate rain. Thunder on both sides, but no visible lightning. All this approached clearly from the SW, on the "My Radar" app.
No wind to speak of, and carried on a cellphone conversation on our open porch through the worst of it. Still, we batten down the hatches every late afternoon--like were in Florida, or something.
