Some neighborhoods/associations may have a person who will swing by your home and check it every so often for a fee. My family does in Suissevale checking water and heat in the winter is worth the money alone. Not really much you can do for a home not occupied some of the year. People will learn your schedule and who's there and when, that goes for all homes in your area. A presence there is the best defense but if your not there your just not there.
