I guess it depends on the Granite. I've had granite on my counter for 10 years now. We sealed it once when they first installed it but it's never been resealed since. We've spilled grape juice , cranberry juice, and many other fluids that are known to stain but nothing. As a matter of fact the finish carpenter that did my kitchen told us that his parents had that same granite and it was all stained after a few years.
