Ames Farms you can call ahead and ask which docks are reserved for those dinning via boat.
We find that lunch on a Saturday in Alton Bay at Shibley's seems to be less crowded than most of the other options, probably because its location.
Also, sometimes it's best to order "take out", and just pull up to a dock, have someone jump out to go get the food and bring it back to the boat. Some of our best meals have been anchored after getting "take out".

We have done the boating take out often at "the Town Docks" in Meredith when the lake and docks are busy and full. We call the order in by phone (we keep a menu onboard) I pull in over by the pump out station just long enough for one of the crew to get off. I motor out in the bay and wait for the cell phone call to come back to pick 'em up. Works great!!
