Two attempts over the decades at the old Nichols Store. Sandwich shops. Both gone now.

Then there was the Italian Pizza shop at the Kayak Shop. Gone now.

Open now are a bunch of places already for sandwiches.
The Mug is still there. There was one between Dunkin Donuts and the car wash (not sure if that one is still in business).

The new bagel shop makes sandwiches. Murphy's up the road. Subway just up from Murphy's.

And I do recall the real enthusiasm when new owners from Massachusetts purchased the General Store in Sandwich. Made all sorts of upgrades. Added a restaurant. Gone now. Kaput.

Yes, I am all for a good sandwich shop.
No place locally knows how to make a real sub sandwich. Nice Italian cold cut sandwich/sub. Not sure if this new place even attempts this.

I wish them all the success in the world.
In my opinion they spent way too much money on making the place look nice. They first should have opened the sandwich shop in the Lee Ulm tin shed and made a go of it first before spending a kazillion dollars making the outside look pretty. From a business perspective only. I don't think that these people had any kind of business plan whatsoever.

Yes, I do think that this building looks very nice and adds greatly to the community. Yes, I will go and purchase sandwiches. And if any good, go back again.
