I will routinely call MP via VHF on 16 for "Courtesy Reports" such as that or other matters and have
never failed to raise them ! As the season moves on however, you may have to "hail" more than once --- do understand that it is one dispatcher whom is "multitasking" .... and there is always Mighty Moe as well !!
To assist, proper "hailing" should be made such as ..... "Marine Patrol, Marine Patrol -- (your boat name) on Ch 16".
