It is a sunny saturday and the
MODIS satellite picture of the day shows the area quite well.
The picture attached has labels showing Squam Lake is pretty well frozen, as is Meredith and Center Harbor bays, Moultonborough area down to the Barber pole and Alton Bay. There appears to be a lot of open water south of the northern fingers all the way to Alton Bay. Hard to believe after all these frigid days, but seems to be so.
Edit: Some of the dark areas that look like open water could be black ice that froze after the last snow.
