I think they were poking you, there is no current out on the lake. Some, going down the channel into Paugus Bay but yesterdays wind would have far exceeded the strength of any current.
I was out on my bike checking jobs for next year and got pushed all over 11 coming and going to Alton from Laconia.
The lake would have been the last place we would have wanted to be yesterday in those winds, you must have gotten sprayed pretty good as well.
Enjoy your winter and hope for lots of snow, but not till after December 1st.
