To be clear all our kitchen appliances are stainless steel. Most have a very smooth easy to care for finish. The sUb-zero have a very coarse grain. You can't clean it without special stuff and even then it never looks right.
The cooktop is not quite as coarse, but the heat from the burner always yellows the stainless near the base. It will come off but it take dynamite or sand blasting
