I believe it was 1966, I would have to check the family records. We were one of the families to buy a lot while the bridge was being built. I remember going down the dirt road to the bridge in mud season, taking a boat ride over to the island, walking around the island through the mud as my parents chose their lot. The sunset view was priority despite the prevailing northwest winds. We have never regretted it. My father always called it his best investment and that he should have purchased more lots. The price was under $10K!
