Yes, boating traffic is down this year. From my perspective, that is good. Less time driving through the the Channel and fewer monster waves created by those big cruisers means a more enjoyable day of boating. I would rather drop $50 in gas for a day of boating than waiting in line with all the tourist for dinner. Dining on the boat can be just as good as dining by boat

. Too bad the government just ran out of money. Maybe we could have gotten Washington to offer us boaters cash for sinkers....trade in your old gas guzzler for a nice shiny new boat with a more fuel efficient engine that does not put out a wake like the Sophie C.
