I must be missing something because I just do not see or get the attraction... 20 or 30 race cars all going around in a circle and all forced to go the same speed due to restrictor plates for 300 revolutions while the crowd bakes on aluminum seats in the hot sun...??? O.K, so I was told the race is won or lost by the pit crew... gotchya... so why not just have the pit crews change tires and refuel a car 10 times and see which crew is quickest and determine a winner rather than wasting all that fuel going around in circles at the same speed 300 times...??? What am I missing??? Maybe if they got rid of the restrictor plates it just might make it a tad more interesting!
Just an fyi...I have been to NHMS for the big races twice, once in the aluminum grandstands and once in a luxury box. Both times I felt I would have been better off staying at my RV in the campground watching the race on the big screen, or better yet at home! I absolutely hated it!
