That's a strange way to break one. The clutch dogs are pretty rugged. Incident happen in Georgian Bay? That area makes Winnipesaukee look like it's not all that rocky...

It would be 45 minute job to remove the broken lower unit, bolt on a brand new SEI 116 lower unit, fill it with lube, and be done with it. They cost $845. Just a thought.
