I've seen dogs that certainly aren't guide dogs - like little teacup poodles and Yorkshire terriers - "accessory dogs" - in drug stores, grocery stores, malls - you-name-it, and I find it very inappropriate. People assume that because the dog isn't walking on the floor of the building that it's okay to bring them in stores and around the public - I say "no means NO"....

It's one thing to bring your dog into a pet store or other building that okays them being there - as long as they're well-behaved and on a leash. I like taking my Tanker into PetCo and similar stores when we're out shopping because it gives him something to look forward to while we're out (like taking a kid into Toys'R'Us.) And it helps to keep him well-socialized in the winter when we can't walk as much.
