A summer shouldn't be ruined by another captain's ineptness, but there is no requirement to report damage under $2000 to the NHMP (formerly $500). You could "call-it-in" to Wolfeboro PD for insurance purposes; however, consider any later insurance ramifications should the damage
not exceed the deductible.
