I think he means if the wind kicks up the wind direction usually makes it rougher down towards the Wolfeboro side of the lake then the Center Harbor side.... But this is just the most common.. I have been on the back side of Welch getting hammered when the Broads were fine.. It all depends on the day. Always plan for the worst and check your weather reports (especially wind and T-storms) before departing.
