If young me could get a gander of present day me, he'd say 2 things:
-How'd you get so fat, and
-What's the deal with falafel?
A gal I knew in college introduced me to it - basically ground chick peas made into patties and deep friend, rolled into a wrap and served with tomatoes, tahini, cukes, and other veggies. I'm pretty much meat 'n' potatoe, so this foreign-sounding food seemed - well - foreign.
But it's an acquired taste that I've acquired a taste for. (Full disclosure - I love Moxie, black licorice, feta cheese, and the musical stylings of Tom Waits)
Anywhere around here to get a falafel? They have good ones at the Friendly Toast in Portsmouth - and I fry 'em up at home. But I'd love to know if there's a place closer to home if I'm not in the mood to cook.
