Early Ice Fisherman testing the ice?
It's probably the same guy from last year who drove onto the ice early to "test it". Needs to read the thread on ice formation.....

Father & Son Talk
Father, "Son, your home early."
Son, "Yeah". Father, "Have you been drinking?" Son, "What?" Father, "Where's the SUV?" Son, "Where?" |
or......

Why?
Why does it always seem to be a Jimmy in the water?

Why a Jimmy ?
Quote:
That's a good question. I'm not sure if I have the answer but here's some reasons why the other SUVs aren't at the bottom ... The Suburban stays in the city, doesn't venture to the waters edge. Similarly the Forrester stays in the woods. And the Mountaineers and Highlanders ... goes w/o saying. The Land Cruiser and Range Rover stay on the land, don't go out onto the lake. The Navigator knows where to go and where not to. The Cayenne is hot, it's fast enough to skim across the water. The Bronco bucks the trend to go out there. The Bravada, oddly, lacks the courage. The Escape does get into trouble from time to time but manages to .... well ... get away. The Amigos also get in trouble but always get pulled out by a friend before public notice ... probably by a Sidekick. Samuris do sink but all you find are the guts. To me the real question is how come we don't find more Typhoons or Armadas ? |
Typhoons or Armadas

Typhoons just blow away and the Armadas sunk off the coast of England. I wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition...Get the comfy chair! |

One More
My suv was on the lake, but I am not at Liberty to discuss it.
|
Were you just on another Expedition when that happened?
|
Word around Alton is...
...that the police are looking for the driver, who was described as wearing a Blazer.
|
Question . . .
Do they have a Winni(bago) problem in Lake Tahoe?

Maybe it's this Jimmy's Jimmy

Jimmy trying to Escape in a Blazer ?

and not just any Trooper

And so on
Trying to Escape the Cherokee he tried to hide behind a Sequoia..
|
It is too bad we don't have more Mariners on the road...Seriosuly though, didn't the article say the Alton PD was last in posession of the vehicle?
|
I wanted to be a TrailBlazer, so I ventured off the road...
|
Well, my ENVOY likes to stay in the DENALI and out of the lake.
|
And yet
A Samurai would be a Trooper and not try to drown himself but use his sword to commit harri carri! No not the late Cub's announcer.
|
The Hummer ran out of gas before it got to the boat ramp.
|
This all seems a little fishy to me.
|
Had it been in the Yukon, the lake would probably be frozen by now, so no sinking.
|
I see all my Amigos here are really into the puns.
|
Yes....I CRV IPs (Very Important Posters) are really into this. (groan)

Gmc
I'm certain that a VALIANT effort was made by all to recover it.....

I'm sure glad it wasn't a NITRO that sank!

The driver got out on the beach, and said.... Yugo!

The natives are already getting restless...It's going to be a LOOOONG winter! :D

This is a sad story
I don't want to get too inVolvoed in this discussion, except to point out this poor guy is probably sad and Saabing over his lost car. And I'm positive he regrets that someone had a camaro with them, took the picture of his car, and splashed it all over this Forum, InAcurately, I might add.
|
Are you all that Desperado for something to do?
|
I took an Odyssey to the Lake to see what all the fuss was about. It was my Civic duty.

bad trip
The driver tried to TRAVERSE the rode to SANTA FE looking for the NAVAJO but got lost and wound up in DAKOTA. It seems the EXCERTION wound up a bad EXPEDITION.

Question of Ownership
Question: If nobody claims the Jimmy, does it become the Alton Town's car, or do they have to publish a URL Linc oln their Lost and Found web page?
|
I just Sentra letter to the town to inquire. I Aspire to be the owner of the Jimmy.

What a Rogue
The more I thought of it, the more I wondered what kind of Saab story we'll hear when "Jimmy" comes forth. Probably wasn't paying attention because he was looking at an Aurora or watching an Eclipse or some other goofy reason for lack of Focus. At least he didn't dial 911 for help, small Tribute to his Vigor I guess.
|
My Guess
Someone used a coat hanger to Jimmy the lock and took that Giant Motor Coach for a joyride.
Just a theory.... dang teenagers. |
I wonder if it could have been....
Stutz Bearcat and his buoy's that took Jimmy's attention from the wheel?
Or maybe Avanti just Studebaker'ed him into the Lake?? :look: |

If it was stuck in the water, he could have at least got out and Porsche
|
Jimmy did it
I enjoyed all the car-toons of sorts that are on this tread. However, I recall a few years ago at the boat ramp in Peggy Cove that a person launched an aluminum row boat with a small moter, was testing it out. Left his cadilac and trailer in the water, He did not put the car completly into park, left the car running and when he got back, his car he thought was gone. But his boat found it, and it landed on the roof. Yup, the car backed down by itself into the water and went under.
 |
Where is Jimmy's driver
All puns aside, has anyone heard yet who the driver/owner is?
|
Ugggh!
A few more of these puns and I'm going to have a FIT :rolleye2:!
|
Someone needs to take this thread Outback and put it out of its misery.

Well, I spoke with our intrepid police chief the other day. He tells me they found the guy - his name is Mark Cooper and he had his wife Sierra in the car with him. The story is rather intrigue-ing - a real classic!
Anyhow, according to the chief it sounds like he got to the ridgeline of the summit on Peggy's Cove and he was doing about 80 when a deer jumped out in front of him and he tried to dodge it but the deer was being chased by a lynx. The guy hit his breaks and skidded about five-hundred feet, right into the water. The guy had no clue he was right on the edge of the water. Mark knew it would take a century to get the car out of the water and didn't want try to be a celebrity by pulling it out himself. He also knew his insurance company would get him a car of a better caliber if he claimed this accident. However, the insurance company is bound to see this charade! |
and on it goes

Last rites
It does not bode well for JIMMY; the PRIUS(T) arrived and gave JIMMY his last rites.
