does any one remember the old rail road car that was were the volvo dealersip is in Meredith? i was just woundering how it got there.....i remember them removing it a long time ago

It was a dining car attached to a resturant
 

Back in 79/80 I remember that there was a resturant in this area, that had a dining car attached. The resturant (it may have been called the Station) either closed or burned down, I am not sure.

Vrroom is right. The restaraunt was called the Station and the car was right next to the main building. I recall that it opened around '77. Good steaks and I knew the bartender. Made for some happy nights in Meredith.

If my memeory serves me right it closed down shortly after a rather aggravated wife caught her husband stepping out on her and put five out of 6 from a wheel gun into him on the dance floor.:eek: It killed the ambience of the place. It was a rib joint for a while after that before it suffered from a fire
