I'm renting a house in the Meredith Neck area (cove behind Pitchwood Island) end of August. Any ideas where the closest boat launch is (17.5 ft duel console). I do not mind paying to launch at a private marina if it's substantially more convienant.

If anyone knows anything about the fishing in that area, and tips would also be appreciated.

The launch at Shep Brown's marina on Lovejoy Lane (off Meredith Neck Road) is a "public" launch. If you have a Meredith dump sticker it's free. If not you may have to pay $10. Very nice launch. It's on the Bear Island side of the Neck.

There's decent trout and salmon fishing in the deep hole right off the launch and along the east side of Bear Island. Don't fish for bass so I couldn't help you there. Enjoy your trip!
