Thin Ice Sign

Can someone please suggest a store in the Laconia/Meredith area where I can get a Thin Ice sign?

Heath Hardware in Center Harbor has them every year. Call first because they usually sell out.

Weak signs!

I bought a "THIN ICE" sign at True Value in Center Harbor. When I bought it the man at the store told me that I would have to brace it or it would break. He was right! I added metal strips to the sides but it was not enough. This year I will take his advice and screw it to a 1/4" piece of plywood for support.

It's a good sign and will last for years with this addition but for $40 I think that you should not have to redisign the thing.

I think I'm going to go buy one for decoration in my home office. It will go along nicely with my snowmobiling and lake pictures.:D

DIY, too...

If you've got the time, I'd suggest you build your own thin ice signs. I made mine last year out of plywood and a few coats of paint. The specs are on the NH saftey web site. Call me cheap, but I couldn't see spending that kind of money for flimsy signs that I'd have to brace anyway.
