It is interesting what changes year to year. Seeing the picture, thinking about spring and knowing that we all keep such a eye openned as to when we will have ice out, I got wonder, is there any site out there or any record anywhere kept of when ice forms on the lake every year.

I believe Channel 9 (this morning) said that Mount Washington had record snow for October.

It's funny you say that. As I was coming up route 28 toward Wolfeboro last week, the view of Mount Washington fully covered in snow took me by surprise.

How nice it must be to see the changes of the season, even though it can occur so rapidly. I believe the record set on Mt. Washington was 158 mph, the highest gust speeds of 158 mph in 10 years. We who love the lake and area watch at a distance and love to hear residents comments of the change of season. Keep it up. Thank you.

Mt Washibgton had 41.7 inches this October Actually,the record was set last year with 72 inches.That was when we had the terrible flooding in the southwestern part of NH.

Yesterday the weather channel had a short story about the wind on Mount Washington this past wekend. It was stated that sustained winds were 134 MPH. That will blow your hat off.

I read last week (when the snow total for Oct. was still only 28") that if it hadn't been for last October's unreal precipitation, this year would've been the hands-down snowfall record on Washington.

40-plus for October is quite a load!
