MOLDY kayak problem?
 

Got a problem removing all that ugly black mold from a kayak that's been outdoors, since last April, and you want to clean it up, to make it look bright and new again?

Well, here is the answer to this ugly MOLD problem. What works a lot better than Clorox or Scrubb'n Bubbles $4.50 qt spray bottles for cleaning black mold is

budda-budda-bing ..... drum roll here ..... the #1 best cleaner for cleaning a moldy kayak is

...... a $9.47 one quart, spray bottle of Miracle Mist instant mold & mildew stain remover for rv's and boats ....... sold in the rv section at Walmart. Is a high quality spritzer, spray bottle with 32-oz high quality mold remover. A little spray does quite a bit of mold area. Also have used it on pt lumber, painted outdoor deck lumber, and aluminum boat lift with excellent results. This stuff is too good.

I have recently tried about three different big name similar products before stumbling onto MIRACLE MIST, and Miracle Mist works a lot better, faster, and easier with less redo needed to really clean away that yucky black mold.

Better get one bottle before it gets sold out .........:cool:! ........ because Walmart only has about 12 to 15 bottles on the shelf in the rv section.

For best results apply between 50 and 80 degrees, and brush it on the kayak with a large scrub brush and rubber gloves.

So much work. Power washer just water should work. If not 4-1 bleach/water before power washing. Why all the chemicals?

A job for Miracle Mist vs. the yucky black kayak mold!
 

I'm talking a really bad bad case of black mold over a large area on the kayak and sailboat.

Using the well known cleaners with bleach like Clorox Gel cleaner and Scrubb'n Bubbles bleach just made minor progress removing the black mold. A second application made more minor removal and left swirls in the black mold without eliminating it. These common cleaners cost about $4.50/qt spray bottle.

The kayak and a Hobie 12' catamaran are made with poly-something material .... maybe polyethylene ..... a widely used kayak material.

Using the Miracle Mist, $9.47/qt spray bottle and brushing it into the mold with a scrub brush was a total game changer. Words like fast, effective, thorough, easy-to-use, did a really good removal job, and eliminated about 80-90% of the black mold with first application all apply here.

For some unknown reason the usually effective Clorox Gel cleaner lost its mojo vs. this mold. Maybe the outdoor temp was too cold? But the Miracle Mist worked excellent to totally fabulous, all things considered.

The directions on the bottle say it works better if the moldy item is over sprayed with water, first, allowed to dry a little and then apply the Miracle Mist so it reacts with the water, but I didn't do that, I just sprayed and brushed it on, and it worked good, anyway.

Well, the comparison are the demonstrated results on the mold removal comparing the $9.47 Miracle Mist vs. the $4.50 Clorox Gel cleaner, and the results between the two were very different. Miracle Mist was fast and thorough, eliminating the black mold and returning the sailboat surface to white and the kayak surface to red while the Clorox Gel just made swirls in the black mold without eliminating it.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the fast results using Miracle Mist, after first trying Clorox Gel spray, a couple days earlier. Miracle Mist worked good, and Clorox Gel was much less effective.

Miracle Mist had shown up in a Google search on "boat mold cleaner" when I was looking for something else to try. I had never heard of it, before. Who knew that this excellent Miracle Mist mold remover was there at the Walmart rv product section for $9.47/ spray quart
