What is being built on Union Ave.?

In Laconia there is construction happening on Union Ave. close to Irwin marine but on the opposite side of the road.

It has a tall block structure in the middle of the lot that looks like it could be an elevator.

Does anyone know what is being built there?

That's the old Friendly's that this article is talking about next to T-bones, not down near Irwin across the street.
I haven't driven down by Lakeport recently, I'll have to go take a look to see.

They are condos being built by the owner of Tbones cactus jacks. Some are going to be for employees and rest are to be rented out. If I remember correctly it will have 6 levels. I am a member Spinnaker cove and the association has been getting updates. I am also told that the Irwin big white building is also sold and will be transformed into something else.

It is going to be a 4 story 8 unit condo building. It is the project of a local Attorney/Developer

So... an elevator shaft?

Tofu 03-13-2025 02:58 PM

Yes, an elevator for a 4 story building. Not that far fetched now is it ?

Slickcraft 03-13-2025 03:28 PM

It is a small lot, so going up may be the only way to get 8 units. Parking may be a crunch.

You still need stairs.

Not to hijack the thread, but is it less expensive overall to build low income housing such as this or to put people into basic units at mobile home parks?

Wondering the same

8gv is not talking about the Friendlys site. It’s a cinder block structure…..no idea what it is

Depends on the size of the lot you are working on.
Manufactured housing can not be stacked effectively.

Just above McDonald's squeezed onto a .93-acre lot ..... http://www.ruedigrealty.com/listing/...dith-nh-03253/ ..... a 5-unit row of townhouses on Route 3, address Zero Daniel Webster Hgwy.
