Fuel Separator Replacement Interval
Happy Start-of-the-Boating-Season!
Just got my MVM spring invoice, and it looks like they didn't replace my fuel separator filter. It was replaced at the beginning of last season, and we put around ~35-40 hours on the boat. Should I have them replace it, do it myself (it's mounted to the back of the swim platform on my pontoon), or not bother this season? Thanks! Sent from my SM-S911U using Tapatalk |

Then put it back on. Dispose of fuel with an IFT (improvised flame thrower). :D Although these are also a fuel filter, I am more concerned about the water in my tank. If the filter were allowed to fill with water it could make its way to the engine and make it quit, likely at an inconvenient time. It that happened at high speed the water might make it into a cylinder and give your motor a boo boo. |
Always have replaced annually

I would call them first and make sure they didn’t replace it. If they didn’t I would replace it.

Thanks for the reminder that sometimes the obvious/simplest approach is the best! Sent from my SM-S911U using Tapatalk |
