Trailer Cpnnection ?

I'm looking at a small cargo trailer to purchase.
The connection at the trailer is a 7 pin connector, my truck has a 4 pin connector.

Can I somehow connect the two, possible with an adapter ?

Also, looking for anyone selling a small cargo trailer:
5x10 or 6x10 o 5x12 or 6x12

Thanks !

Yes, there are adapters. The question is does the trailer have electric brakes? If so, the 4 pin system you have will not actuate the brakes. Otherwise it should work.

Yes, trailer does have 'electric' brakes. My truck has a 7 pin "Round" connection, so think I'm al good thanks !

Ok, you might need a brake controller too if your truck doesn't have one, shouldn't be a big deal if you already have a 7 pin outlet on the truck. Probably pre wired if the controller isn't there.

Yes, you can connect a 7-pin trailer to a truck with a 4-pin connector. You will need an adapter. These adapters are easy to find at auto parts stores or online.

However, keep in mind that the 4-pin connector handles basic functions like lights (turn signals, brake lights), but the 7-pin can also handle things like trailer brakes and auxiliary power. If your trailer has extra features like brakes, you won't be able to use those with a 4-pin connector unless you upgrade your truck's wiring.

Good luck finding a trailer!
