Lake bottom rakes
Has anyone identified a lake bottom rake they are happy with? Not trying to remove everything, just make it walkable

For $44.99 Tractor Supply in Gilford or Plymouth has a 36" wide aluminum landscape rake with a long fiberglass handle that looks like a winner, winner, chicken dinner for doing a good job on that lake bottom. It looks very much like the golf course rake used on the golf sand bunkers.

We have used this landscaper’s rake for years on our beach and in the water.

Pond Net
Use a heavy-duty pond net if you are trying to collect leaves, etc. Much better than a rake. For example

I use a Jenless weed raker. Have had for 15 years no probs.
I learned from my grandad…make a 4’x4’ frame out 2x4s and cover with chicken wire type product with half inch squares. Put on top of truck inner tube and add a rope and anchor. Rake into piles the put on tube contraption with pitch fork. Sand and water drip right thru. Bring tube to shore and let dry, lighter and easier to dispose. I use it on flower beds and is amazing. |

Sorry no pics, sold house in late 90s, couldn’t afford taxes:rolleye1:
But I built my own when I was 12 and did all my neighbors properties, made enough to buy a nice car when I turned 16 Island life was some of the best years of my life. Black cat. |
I have western exposure and every spring I have some silt and leaves accumulated on the bottom so I use the same method every year.
Start my boat, leave it in gear and at idle speed to start a current flowing. Then I use a roof rake loosen up the material and out to sea it goes leaving me with a sparkling sandy bottom. |
Nice Samiam. You probably saw my grandad using my said apparatus. He used it at Swallow point for years!

I scooped the leaves out with a fishing net. I’ve done it forever.
