Stay away from this company

https://www.shipcar.com/

I had them transport my truck from FL to NH a few years ago. It arrived in Gilford with the windows down, the sunroof open and the entire inside soaking wet from rain. Then they denied it was their fault, even though I provided pictures and such. I didn't have time to pursue action against them, so I just let it go. I still have the truck and it still smells musty.

They haul motorcycles and cars all over the country. They will be in Myrtle Beach in a week or 2

I have used "Gilberto" several times for transport from New Hampshire to Florida or the reverse. 508-371-8066. (He likes cash!)

No damage, good communication, decent price. This time of year, with many northbound vehicles, you may get a good price for a car going south.

Amtrak

Not sure if they stop in the Carolinas, but it is a wonderful way to travel with your car. We just took the Southbound train from Boston to Orlando for just $95! The train was about empty going South as the Snowbirds were heading North. North transportation was about $540.

How long did it take?

Revenge Auto Transport from Tampa area has been very highly recommended by a friend with car collection, and he is transporting my husband’s latest toy from Florida to Moultonborough. He will drop the car off Wednesday or Thursday.
He will have room for one car going south from here. His name is Keith Stringfield and his number is 727-992-9804. This might work for you.

Sue; Assuming you don't mind, can you share an idea of transport costs of a vehicle between Florida and Moultonborough ?

Also, do they allow one to load up the car and ship contents and luggage ?

I don’t mind at all, but your best bet is to contact Keith and tell him what you have, etc. and he will give you a quote right away based on the car size, etc. He is a one man operation and your car is in an enclosed carrier, which is what we wanted. We loaded the trunk with a suitcase and other stuff that we didn’t want to deal with at the airport.

Cost

To answer a couple of cost questions:

In open trucks I have paid about $900 either way.

In enclosed trucks I paid $1,500 each way. The man I used for the enclosed truck lives on Cape Cod and he goes from New England to Florida almost weekly.

A very good point - lesson.

Enclosed carriers are best but cost more.

Take multiple pictures of vehicle before shipping and if open carrier - take pictures of vehicle on carrier.

Friend sold a 2 year old Porsche sports car for lot of money. No dents before shipping. Vehicle arrived to buyer with small dent. Buyer was not happy. Tried to blame seller for not telling truth of condition. PICTURES solved any issues.
