Wind direction and speed
Was planning to boat tommorrow on Winni, as the temps are still high, mid 80's.
The winds however are predicted to be about 14 mph with gusts to almost 18 mph. The winds will be from the SW. Will these winds produce a rough chop and possible white-caps? Thanks for your feedback ! |
Yes.
Enjoy! |

Any thoughts from either weatherheads or other northerners on this? |
Another site that uses the same input data:
https://www.ventusky.com/?p=43.575;-...;10&l=wind-10m The Weather Underground Wundermap shows the input stations that vary all over the place. https://www.wunderground.com/wunderm....54&lon=-71.37 |
One of the best sites for consistent, accurate, wind forecasts is www.windfinder.com
Living on the east side of the lake, I've found that using the gust numbers rather than the average wind speed gives me a better indication of what to expect for the day. |
