(New) Jet Ski Accessory List
Hey, so y'all know I'm buying a new jetski this spring, right?!
My wife is looking to grab some Xmas gifts, so I'm looking for a list of accessories I might want/need for/on my new ski. On the list already: first aid kit, anchor, PFD, battery tender, cover, fire extinguisher, dry bag, towel, dock rope, whistle/foghorn (which?). Thanks! Have you thought about clothing, e.g. footwear?
|
Gas cards from various pumps on the lake should be a win. Keep in the jet ski JIC

I like to wear water shoes to protect my feet when I step off my boat on a rocky bottom. I prefer ones that can be tightened around my ankle to prevent them from getting sucked off in a mucky bottom. You may also want a hat that won’t blow off at speed, or a tether to keep your hat from disappearing. The same for sunglasses. If you want to ride early or late in the season, warm/waterproof clothing may be in order. Perhaps a pair of neoprene gloves. |
Don't forget the Jet Ski cover. I like the ones from the manufacturer of the Jet Ski better than the aftermarket ones, JMO.
You might also want to get a small first add kit. |

It looks like the direct access storage comes with a fire extinguisher and "safety kit" that fit in the top portion. I'm interested to know what that entails and if the container can also be used for first aid. Looking forward to looking at them at the boat shows! - Telescoping boat paddle.
- Storage organizer made by the manufacturer. - Two 4 foot bungee dock lines. - An anchor & line. I’m actually looking at best anchor application for my jet ski on Winni. Thinking a 10 lb mushroom might be best - for sandbars and coves in quiet areas. Anyone have any suggestions on this? |

As for the anchor, everywhere I read mentioned this type (below). I bought this specific one yesterday because it was $10 off and comes with 40' of rope vs. the 25 on the Airhead one. Since I'm trying to conserve space, I'll give this a shot. I'd much prefer the Mantus dinghy anchor, but the galvanized can't be broken down and the stainless one that can be disassembled is somewhere near $200. https://www.amazon.com/Accessories-F.../dp/B01KE1K9XW Sent from my SM-G950U using Winnipesaukee Forum mobile app |
Neoprene boots
Let your feet get wet but stay warm'ish.
Neoprene boots have been used by whitewater enthusiasts. Maybe scuba diver version as well. |
Safety glasses
I bought a cheap pair of clear safety glasses just in case it starts raining. It hurts a lot going 30 mph without them

Wetsuit and goggles (prescription?) will extend your season. For all family members?
Handheld VHF (I used two foam Koozies to protect mine in a drybag.) You might be able to negotiate some stuff with your purchase. Whistles are cheap. Put one on every family member's PFD. |
If you drive aggressively you will end up in the water wondering where your sunglasses are.
A floating croaky solves the problem. https://www.amazon.com/Neckz-Floatin...apparel&sr=1-1 |

Ok, I'm down to either the GTI SE 170, GTX 170, or Yamaha VX Cruiser HO. Definitely one of them!
